Last Friday Vanessa Benelli Mosell, one of the revelations of Présences 2019, performed at the opening concert of the 2020 Présences Festival. She played the DUET for Piano and Orchestra by George Benjamin, principal guest of this edition, with the Orchestre National de France under the baton of Benjamin himself.

Toute la culture states:

“…the sublime and sophisticated Vanessa Benelli Mosell came to take place on the piano just installed to perform George Benjamin’s “Duet for piano and orchestra” (2007-08, 12 mins) with the NFB. Dedicated to Pierre-Laurent Aymard, pianist close to Benjamin who will play his music Thursday evening as part of the Festival Présence, this duet is sweet, like the harp moments that emanate from the orchestra and then, as it superimposes the sounds, the piano becomes rougher and the dialogue more intense…”
